Obituary

Milburn Elliot Heard, Jr. was born in Magnolia, AR to Lillie Vera (Carter) Heard and Milburn Elliot Heard. He moved to Wichita, KS at age nine.

He joined the Marine Corps. January 29, 1957 and was honorably discharged in January of 1960. On August 21, 1960 he married Fay Waldon in her parent’s home. They were married by his mother, Vera Heard, who was a minister.

Milburn was a talented man, diesel mechanic, and truck driver. If it was broken, he could fix it. He retired from Suhor Industries in Parsons, KS.

Milburn was a loving husband to Fay for over 59 years. He was a wonderful father to Christine and Paula, and a much loved patriarch of a large and extended family. Milburn, called Buddy by many, enjoyed fishing, Canasta card playing, and being with his family. In his retirement he was known for his puzzles. He would put them together to give away and his wife, Fay, framed them. He has puzzles spread across six states.

Milburn is survived by his wife, Fay of the home; daughters, Christine (Chuck) Marbut and Paula (Roy) Ross of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Brian (Cheryl), Shayna (Meagan), Savanah (Akeem), Derrick (Dallas), Alicia (Justin), Cory (Hollie), Leah, Robby (Loraine); great grandchildren, Jayden, Denton, Alivia, Pierson Elliot, Caiden, Zachery, Tyler, Josie, Alexander, Robert, WIlliam, and Naomi; his brother, John Heard and sister, Linda Johnson of Wichita, KS and sister-in-law, Bonnie (Charlie). He also has numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, whom he loved very much, that will miss him.

Milburn was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Heard.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
