Amalia Maria Maxwell, 93, of Muskogee, died peacefully at home on April 24, 2020. She was born May 25, 1926, in Vienna, Austria, the daughter of Josef and Maria Korbel.
Lia left her home in 1946 seeking a better life in the USA. She met the love of her life, Ray Maxwell, and they married in December of 1953. She was a hard worker having jobs with several large companies over 30 years. She loved cooking and gardening, particularly her flowers.
She is survived by her three step-children and their families: Jerry Maxwell of Edmond, Oklahoma, Pamela Goode of Buena Vista, Colorado and Gregory Maxwell of Parker, Colorado.
A private funeral service for immediate family members will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2020. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Bradley-Foster-Petering Funeral Service. Mrs. Maxwell will be laid to rest at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery beside her husband, Ray A. Maxwell.
