Jo Ann Fender
Jo Ann Fender, of Fort Gibson was born January 26, 1939 in Oklahoma City,
OK.  She passed away, Tuesday, July 27, 2010 surrounded by her loving
family.

She married the love of her life on May 1, 1959 and then lived in various
places in Oklahoma until 1977 when they settled in Fort Gibson.    Jo Ann
spent all her time making a warm, loving home for her husband, daughter,
and in later years, her son-in-law and grandchildren in Fort Gibson.  She
was a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending her time growing and canning her
own vegetables, delivering cakes and treats and family, and making no-bake
cookies for her grandchildren.

Jo Ann was lovingly known as the “sheriff” of the Tsa La Gi Yacht Club,
Lake Fort Gibson and spent many hours acting as social director for the
club membership, and as chief crew person for her husband during club
races on their sail boat.

Jo Ann is lovingly survived by her husband, Charles Fender of the home;
daughter, Kathryn Barber & son-in-law, Kendal Barber and grandchildren,
Anthony and Caitlain Barber, all of Claremore.  In addition, she is
survived by numerous extended family members and friends.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the
American Cancer Society, 4110 S. 100th East Ave., Suite 101, Tulsa Ok
